The Nativity Carol Service planned for Sunday 3rd December had to be cancelled due to rain and gusting winds. Word got round and some people managed to regroup at the City Chambers where Ewan Aitken, Leader of Edinburgh City Council, led an impromptu Carol Service with the participation of Exile Choir, St Peter's Primary School Choir, a string quartet and a brass band from the Salvation Army. The rededication of the Nativity Scene (which is sited in West Princes St Gardens by the Floral Clock) was led by Sir Tom Farmer and Cardinal O'Brien. Prayers were led by Anne Mulligan, Moderator of Edinburgh Presbytery, and Bishop Brian Smith. Ewan Aitken, who is also a Church of Scotland Minister, gave the Christmas Message. Thanks to all who took part and who helped with planning and publicity. A special thanks to Alison Sweeney and Paul Philip of the City Council & Colin Peckham of Origin.
